Abstract

Main functions of nasal concha are humidification, filtration and warming of air, and regulation of airflow. Although the concurrence of middle and upper concha bullosa is rare, concurrence of middle and inferior concha bullosa is even rarer. In this article, we present an 18-year-old female patient who presented with nasal obstruction and complaint of pain around the forehead and eyes. Physical examination and imaging findings showed bilateral middle and left inferior concha bullosa and severe septal deviation to the left. Under general anesthesia, endoscopic submucosal resection of the lateral walls of bilateral middle and left inferior concha was performed. At the end of postoperative one year follow-up, no complication was observed and headache healed. Rarely observed concurrence of middle and inferior concha bullosa should be kept in mind by ear nose and throat physicians in the etiology of headache.
