Abstract
Mucoceles of the paranasal sinuses are benign masses which show local enlargement due to mucus collection. Despite their benign nature, they can expand in huge sizes resulting in the destruction of the bone by the pressure at the surrounding bone. The treatment of maxillary sinus mucoceles is surgical. In this article, we report a 50-year-old male case with a giant mucocele of the right maxillary sinus. The patient had 1800 ml bleeding during surgery. The differential diagnosis of the disease and the surgical treatment options were reviewed in the light of the literature data.
