Abstract
The term “concha bullosa” is generally used to describe the aeration of pneumatized middle turbinate. Concha bullosa is one of the most common anatomical variant of sinonasal area and is usually asymptomatic. Concha bullosa pyocele may occur when a mucocele becomes infected. In such cases, the concha prevents the drainage of the paranasal sinuses, by expanding due to an inflammatory process. Concha bullosa may lead to serious orbital and intracranial complications. In this article, we present a 15-year-old female case of a giant concha bullosa pyocele leading to ipsilateral frontoethmoid and maxillary sinusitis.
