Abstract
Especially in rural areas, leech infestation is more common due to the use of natural water sources for drinking purposes. Leech infestation can lead to different clinical symptoms such as epistaxis, hemoptysis, hematemesis, vaginal bleeding, globus sensation and difficulty with swallowing. Therefore, leech infestation should be considered in patients from rural areas with similar unexplained symptoms. In this article, we present a patient who was admitted with the complaint of intermittent epistaxis caused by the live leech settled on the nasopharynx that was difficult to diagnose; and a patient who was admitted with globus sensation caused by the live leech settled on the left ventricular band.
