Abstract
Concha bullosa, which is the most frequent anatomic variation of the sinonasal region, is defined as the pneumatization of the middle turbinate. Although concha bullosa is usually asymptomatic, it may become symptomatic according to its relationship with the nasal septum and osteomeatal region based on its size. The most frequent symptoms are nasal obstruction, pain in head and face region, olfactory problems, sinusitis, postnasal discharge, and hyposmia. Diagnosis is established by anterior rhinoscopy, endoscopic examination, and paranasal sinus tomography. To ensure sufficient nasal patency for treatment, partial resection of the middle turbinate is performed by endoscopic method. In this article, we report a 34-year-old female patient with unilateral giant concha bullosa causing chronic headache, nasal obstruction, and olfactory disorder in the light of the literature.
