Abstract
Ranulas are cystic dilatations of the mouth floor involving the sublingual salivary gland ducts. Congenital ranulas occur secondary to the failure of canalization or atresia of the salivary gland ducts. Congenital cystic lesions of the oral cavity are extremely rare. The treatment of ranulas involves observation, needle aspiration, marsupialization and surgical excision. In this article, we present a case of congenital cyst in the mouth floor of an infant and discuss possible management options.
