Abstract

Tracheal diverticum is a paratracheal air cyst, which occurs congenitally or is acquired from invagination of tracheal wall. It is rare and often asymptomatic. Treatment is usually not required. Diagnosis is often made by radiological imaging techniques such as computed tomography. In this article, we report a 59-year-old male case in whom tracheal diverticulum was diagnosed with directly seen through tracheostomy stoma and endoscopically following total laryngectomy with the diagnosis of laryngeal cancer. This case was presented as it is rarely seen in ear nose and throat practice and it may lead to misdiagnosis.
